The OMOTO 0412 Straight Jeans showcase the beauty of 16oz nep denim, crafted for a textured, vintage-inspired look. The warp yarns blend short cotton fibers (27mm or less) for an irregular, unpredictable surface, while the weft yarns are spun using the traditional “gara-bo” technique, creating a rustic, hand-spun feel. This results in a breathable, airy fabric with a distinct nep texture.

Dyed using 100% pure indigo through an extended rope-dyeing process, the yarn develops a rich, deep blue surface while retaining a raw core—allowing for crisp, beautiful fades over time. The fabric is woven on a 1950s GL8 Toyoda Automatic Loom, which slowly and precisely beats the thick yarns, trapping air for an uneven, textured finish.

These jeans are unsanforized but rinsed, preserving the natural cotton texture while ensuring comfort from the first wear. Featuring OMOTO’s signature blue-green “MIMI” selvedge, a custom-branded sheep leather patch, and hidden rivets, they embody true Japanese denim craftsmanship.
